New Assistant Superintendent Hired For Sturgis Public Schools

(STURGIS) – Sturgis Public Schools has a new Assistant Superintendent.

During a special meeting Monday morning the Sturgis Board of Education unanimously approved the hiring of Britt Gross to be the Assistant Superintendent. Superintendent Dr. Art Ebert shares with the Board the process that was followed to find someone for the position. LINKC.

Gross received a Bachelors of Science in English and American Literature and Language from Eastern Michigan University, and later a Masters of Arts in Education for Administration & Supervision, Adult Education & Training and Curriculum & Instruction from the University of Phoenix.

Prior to taking the job in Sturgis, Gross served in several roles with the Polk County Public Schools in Florida, including Reading Teacher; Assistant Principal; Director of Student Learning and Education; Assistant Principal of Curriculum, and most recently as Middle School Principal at Lake Alfred Polytech Academy.

Gross is transitioning from Florida and plans on starting her new duties soon.

Gross is taking over as Assistant Superintendent following the retirement of Nicole Gittinger earlier this month.
