Monday, July 22, 2024

(JEFFERSON TOWNSHIP) – A motorcycle crash in Southern Michigan took the life of a Northern Indiana man.

Cass County Sheriff Richard Behnke says at 3:30 PM Saturday, his department was called to investigate a personal injury crash near Daily Road and Jefferson Center Street in Jefferson Township.

The investigation determined that a 22 year old Granger, Indiana man was traveling north on Dailey Road when he lost control of his motorcycle to the right side of the road, causing him to hit multiple trees, and then come to rest down an embankment.

The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. He was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. Speed does appear to be a factor in the crash, which is still under investigation.

The Edwardsburg Ambulance Company and Cass Fire Department assisted at the scene.
