(UNDATED) – It’s been a slow start to the 2024 firearm deer hunting season in St. Joseph County.
According to the Michigan Department of Natural Resources, 1,084 deer have been harvested in St. Joseph County since the start of the firearm deer season on Friday. 580 have been antlered deer and 504 have been antlerless.
Across Southern Michigan, Hillsdale County has seen the most deer harvested at 3,269. That include 2,161 antlered and 1,108 antlerless deer.
In Branch County there have been 2,652 deer harvested since the start of the season, with 1,619 of them being bucks and 1,033 being does.
Cass County has seen 1,117 deer harvested over the opening weekend. 675 have been antlered and 442 antlerless.
So far, Saginaw County has seen the highest total of deer harvested at 4,939.
