(STURGIS) – It was another record setting day Thursday for the 13th annual WBET Radiothon, benefiting the St. Joseph County United Way.
After 18 hours of celebrity DJ’s raising money, United Way Executive Director Kelly Hostetler announced the total amount donated. LINKC.
That bests the amount raised for the 2021 Radiothon which was $130,962.70. Hostetler thanked those who gave, and reminded everyone that all the money raised stays in St. Joseph County to help fund 40 different agencies.
Hostetler also announced the two winning Celebrity DJ teams for the day. LINKD.
This year’s Celebrity DJ’s pulled out all the stops to raise money during their hour. Some were given money for singing, while others were given donations for not singing.
In addition, drawings were held for other prizes. Pamela Peters won the golf cart. Anyone who made a donation had their name put into a drawing for a chance to win two other prizes. The winner of a grill from the Sturgis Wal Mart store was Tom and Bethan Hamilton, while Bob and Diana Hile won a $100 gift cart from the Three Rivers Wal Mart store.
