(MILTON TOWNSHIP) – A two vehicle crash in Southwest Michigan injured four people.
Cass County Sheriff Richard Behnke says at 3:44 PM Saturday, his deputies were called to Gumwood Road and East Bertrand Road in Milton Township.
The investigation shows that Marshall Smith of Sauk Village, Illinois was driving south on Gumwood Road and failed to stay in his lane. He crossed the center line and struck a northbound vehicle head on, which was driven by Jess Gose of Mishawaka, Indiana.
Smith was taken to South Bend Memorial Hospital to be treated for his injuries. Gose, along with his passengers, DanYelle Watkins and a juvenile, both of Mishawaka, were also taken to South Bend Memorial Hospital.
Everyone involved were wearing the seatbelts. Assisting at the scene were the Niles Township Fire Department and SMCAS Ambulance.
The crash remains under investigation.
