(UNDATED) – Clean up and recovery efforts are continuing around St. Joseph County following the tornadoes that touched down Tuesday afternoon.
St. Joseph County Undersheriff Jason Bingaman and County Emergency Management Director Erin Goff say preliminary damage assessments are in process and specifics on the tornado activity are pending evaluation by the National Weather Service. Damage assessments are being completed using personnel on the ground as well as aerial resources.
Bingaman and Goff are asking all County residents and visitors to St. Joseph County to be mindful of the St. Joseph County Road Commission, utility partners and other public works employees who are working to clear roadways and debris.
Please avoid sightseeing in the areas where work is being performed and be careful if you need to travel in the areas where crews are working.
