No. 7 Mendon tops No. 8 Climax 58-50 in 8 Man playoffs
(CLIMAX) – In a rematch of a regular season game that saw Climax-Scotts score late to beat Mendon, the visiting and No. 7 ranked Hornets scored with 3.7 second left to beat the host and No. 8 Panthers 58-50 in their 8 Man Division 1 Region 4 semifinal game. The Hornets outgained Climax 527-391, with Mendon rushing for 519 yards. JT Lux led the Mendon ground attack with 26 carries for 257 yards and 3 touchdowns. Owen Gorham had 40 carries for 231 yards and 5 touchdowns, including the game winner. LINKC. Luke Lawrence led the Panthers with 15 carries for 286 yards and 6 TD’s. Nick Stiver had 6 tackles for Mendon while Owen Gorham had 5. Climax-Scotts ends the year 8-2. Mendon improves to 9-1 and will host No. 5 Martin in a Regional Championship game next Saturday.
