(UNDATED) – One State and one Federal race has been decided by voters in Southern Michigan.
In the race for the 36th District seat in the Michigan House of Representatives, Republican Incumbent Steve Carra defeated Democrat Erin Schultes 29,708 to 13,756 (68.3% to 31.65%). Carra will serve a third two year term in Lansing representing St. Joseph County and part of Cass County.
Three candidates were vying for the U.S. House of Representatives 5th District seat. Incumbent Republican Congressman Tim Walberg won re-election with 268,777 votes (65.7%). Democrat Libbi Urban received 133,936 (32.74%), while James Bronke of the Green Party collected 6,356 votes (1.55%).
